In support of the overall mission of the Loudoun Half & 8k, the Ashburn Elite Track Club will be providing your little athlete(s) ages 3 – 13 an introduction to various track and field events, Sunday, April 22 at Broad Run High School.
Running and field events will take place during the half marathon on the turf of Broad Run High School’s stadium.
- 55 meter dash
- 400 meter run
- Turbo javelin
- Running long jump
- Softball throw
The Ashburn Elite Track Club will have their coaches and athletes leading each event and also touch on the importance of warm-up and cool down stretching.
8 AM on the turf of the infield
Last round of events will start at 10:00 AM with activates ending at 10:30 AM
Youth athletes will be encouraged to participate as often as they wish, and will receive a participation “award” once completing all five activates the first time. (one award per child, while supplies last)
- Plan to sign up your youth athlete when you arrive on Sunday, April 22
- Registration will be open from 8 AM – 10 AM and located on the turf of the infield of the stadium.
- All parents must complete a registration form and sign an event waiver for their youth athlete participating.
- Youth athletes 10 and under must be accompanied by an adult while youth athlete is participating.
Information about the Ashburn Elite Track Club: The club is comprised of athletes between the ages of 5 and 14. Led by USA Track and Field certified volunteer coaches, the club’s program is designed to develop an athlete’s foundation of speed and endurance while teaching the fundamentals of running and racing strategy. The primary objective of the program is to provide athletes with an experience that will make them life-long runners and healthy, active people. The club is a qualified 501(c)3 organization.
